ISDN Facts

ISDN is a digital telecomunication protocol. It is binary encoded and has a OSI Layered strucure. Layer 1 (L1) handles the hardware side of transporting data, Layer 2 (L2) ensures that the connection can transport data and creates logical entities like Endpoints (comparable to the IP protocol) the Layer 3 (L3) finally is the Call Management Layer which handles creating and releasing calls.
